Awareness toolsAwareness is a well recognized technique for enhancing coordination in Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) research. Several awareness tools has been developed both as standalone systems and as part of groupware. Examples of research in this area is the Jazz research project at IBM Watson Research Center and both Palantìr and CASSIUS at the Institute for Software Research, University of California, Irvine. Agent Supported Cooperative Work (ASCW)Agent Supported Cooperative Work (ASCW) brings together two areas of research that have gained much momentum in recent years: Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and agent technologies. The use of agent technology has by several researchers been identified as the future direction in the design of groupware. The JAMAS project intend to develop a awareness tool through ASCW. |
